Synopsis

Baltimore artist Billy Pappas committed almost 10 years to completing a painstakingly detailed drawing of Marilyn Monroe and then set his sights on an audience with famed painter David Hockney -- a quest chronicled in this engaging documentary. Consumed by the idea that Hockney's approval will lead to future commissions and a network of patrons, Pappas's efforts to show his piece to Hockney are surpassed only by the labor invested in the drawing.
