Synopsis

Professor Maitland (Peter Cushing), an avid collector of objects that are rumored to possess dark powers, is delighted to obtain the skull of the notorious Marquis de Sade. But he soon discovers that his new artifact has a sadistic mind of its own. True to the predictions of the skull's former owner -- the professor's friend Sir Matthew Phillips (Christopher Lee) -- Maitland falls under the deadly spell of his latest acquisition.
