Synopsis

This Emmy-nominated BBC production stays faithful to the Charles Dickens classic, a pointed critique of greed and wealth in Victorian England. Martin Chuzzlewit (Paul Scofield) is a wealthy old man with a vast amount of money to pass on. But with no deserving relatives, to whom will he grant his inheritance? Pete Postlethwaite (In the Name of the Father), Tom Wilkinson (In the Bedroom) and John Mills (Ghandi) round out the talented ensemble cast.
