Traditions and trends clash in this coming-of-age dramedy set in 1970s England, following a young girl's struggles to find acceptance -- and a cool best friend. As a recent Indian immigrant, 12-year-old Meena (Chandeep Uppal) is so desperate to distance herself from her family and become part of the British in crowd that she swears allegiance to the local bad girl (Anna Brewster) with disastrous results. Lynn Redgrave and Mark Williams co-star.
